Sir Graham and the Dragon

Sir Graham was a knight in the merry old day
Of King Arthur and the legends of the dragons to slay
He put on his armor and he carried a shield
And rode a great horse over hills and through fields

One day King Connor said, Sir Graham, this day
I have a great dragon that I need you to slay
He lives in a cave in the mountains of Yooming
Hurry up and go get him—use my sword—get zooming!

Sir Graham received the sword with a smile
And said thanks to King Connor then he bowed for a while
Then he pushed down his visor to prepare for the battle
And he tripped on a rock and fell down with a rattle!

His sword popped up and his shield went down
And his armor caught King Connor who then lost his crown
When Connor fell down, the sword fell fast
And nearly cut right through the royal ruler’s royal sash

Sir Graham regained his posture, helped the king un-flip
The king sent him on his way with, “Have a nice trip!”
The knight got on his horse, and his horse went zooming
And they proceeded to the rocky mountains of Yooming

The horse’s hooves were moving fast and the thunder was booming
The mountains far away, they were large and looming
Because the king commanded, so Graham did yield
Brave Sir Graham rode through the storm with his armor and shield

He crossed the mighty river, then he went around the trees
And arrived at Yooming Mountains with his strong, trusty steed
Toward the cave they rode up as high as horses go
Sir Graham then dismounted and climbed up through bitter snow

And just when Sir Graham thought he might freeze to death
He was warmed up by a breeze that smelled like dragon’s breath!
Out came his sword, and up went his shield
And he searched for the dragon to be revealed

The snow was melting quickly from a fire in the cave
The knight continued marching for he was so brave
He lowered his visor, then much to his shock
He “had a nice trip” on a great big rock

Graham’s sword popped up and his shield went down
When the dragon appeared, Graham was on the ground
Now dragons breathe fire especially on Mt. Yooming
And this one’s breath was bad and about to be fuming!

Sir Graham saw the dragon and he thought he was a-gonner
Then he remembered what had happened to King Connor
The dragon’s breath was fuming but the sword came down
And bonked the dragon’s head and knocked him to the ground

Dragons come and dragons go that kings will order you to slay
So think of Sir Graham’s story and be on your way
When it comes to slaying dragons, just remember this tip:
Always, always wear your visor, and then “Have a nice trip!”
